Casio GBM-2100A-2BER

According to the manual, this is a combination watch with analog hands and a digital display. The hands can be moved aside to read the display beneath them. The watch is rechargeable and shows its charge level. It connects to a phone via the CASIO WATCHES app. At CLASSIC, module 5729 is found in the following models:

Modes and navigation

The main mode is Timekeeping Mode, which shows the time and date. In this mode, the display content can be cycled. The manual also describes separate functions: World Time, alarm, stopwatch, timer and reminders. Switching between modes is described in the section Navigating Between Modes. The indicators on the dial and display are explained in the section Watch Face and Display Indicators.

How to set the time and date

The manual provides two ways: automatic time adjustment via a phone or manual adjustment through watch operations.

  1. Install the CASIO WATCHES app on a supported phone. The list of supported phones is in the section Supported Phones.
  2. Pair the watch with the phone following the steps in the section Connecting with a Phone.
  3. When connected, the Auto Time Correction function adjusts the time automatically.
  4. Select a Home City and the Summer Time setting.
  5. If you do not have a phone at hand, set the time manually following the section Using Watch Operations to Adjust the Time.
  6. The date format and the day-of-week language are changed from Other Settings.

The manual also describes the Time Correction Reminder, which reminds you to adjust the time. When moving to another time zone, follow the section Moving to Another Time Zone.

Connecting with a phone (Mobile Link)

The CASIO WATCHES app sets the time, World Time, alarm, timer and reminders. The Phone Finder function helps you locate your phone. With TIME&PLACE, the watch records your current location. The manual also describes disconnecting, unpairing and changing phones. Before use, review the section Mobile Link Precautions.

World Time

The watch shows the time in another city around the world. The city is selected on the watch or via the CASIO WATCHES app. Home time and World Time can be swapped. The list of cities is in the City Table, and the summer time rules are in the Summer Time Table.

Alarm and hourly time signal

The digital alarm is set on the watch or via the app. An Hourly Time Signal can be enabled separately. The manual also describes turning off the alarm and the hourly time signal.

Stopwatch

The Stopwatch measures elapsed time. It supports split times and lap times. The difference between the two types of measurement is explained in the section Split Times and Lap Times.

Countdown Timer

The Countdown Timer counts down from a set start time. The start time is set on the watch or via the CASIO WATCHES app. Its use is described in the section Using the Timer.

Reminders

The watch supports reminders (Reminder). They are created via the app, and their details are checked on the watch.

Hand alignment

If the hands do not match the digital time, a correction is made (Hand Alignment Correction). It is performed via the CASIO WATCHES app or directly on the watch.

Reading the display and illumination

The hands can be moved aside so they do not cover the digital display. The manual also describes how to view the dial in the dark in the section Viewing the Face in the Dark.

Charging and power saving

The watch is rechargeable, and the charge level is checked on the display. There is also a Power Saving function, which is set separately. The manual notes that battery replacement requires special tools. It is done at the dealer or at an authorized Casio service center. The settings can be restored to their initial state via Resetting Watch Settings.

Water resistance and care

The water resistance rating is marked on the case back. With the marking WATER RESISTANT without BAR, the watch withstands hand washing and rain. At 5BAR, it is also suitable for swimming. At 10BAR and 20BAR, the manual allows windsurfing and diving without tanks. The watch is not for scuba diving with tanks.

  • Do not press the buttons or turn the crown while the watch is wet.
  • Do not wear the watch in a bath, sauna or hot-water pool.
  • After seawater, rinse the watch with clean water.
  • The gaskets are replaced periodically, about every two to three years.
  • Keep the watch away from thinners, gasoline, cosmetics and high temperatures.
  • Do not fasten the band too tightly. A finger should fit between it and your wrist.
