Casio module 3464: user manual and setup (GBD-800, GBD-800UC)

The module number is engraved on the case back of the watch. It is usually in a small rectangle next to the other markings. If it says 3464, this guide applies to your watch. The description follows the official Casio manual for module 3464.

Which watches have module 3464

Module 3464 is a digital module from the G-Shock series. The watch has a step counter and a Bluetooth connection to a phone via the G-SHOCK Connected app. The connection allows automatic time setting and viewing of steps and stopwatch data on the phone screen. At Classic this module is found in the following models:

Buttons, modes and indicators

In the manual the buttons are marked with the letters A, B, C, D and E. Button C changes the modes. Each press of C moves to the next mode. Holding C for at least two seconds returns the watch to Timekeeping Mode from any other mode. In Timekeeping Mode, button E switches between the date and time and the step counter. Button D is used to connect to a phone.

The watch has the following modes:

• Timekeeping – current time, date and step counter
• Alarm – alarms and hourly time signal
• Stopwatch – elapsed time measurement
• Dual Time – second time
• Recall – review of recorded lap and split times
• Timer – countdown timer

The display has indicators for the status of the watch. LAP and SPL show whether a lap time or a split time is displayed. REC is lit in Recall Mode. DST indicates daylight saving time, and P means a PM hour. LT is lit when auto illumination is enabled. STEPS appears when the step count is displayed, and MUTE when the button sound is disabled. TGT appears in the stopwatch when the Target Time function is active. Separate indicators show an enabled alarm, an enabled hourly time signal and an active phone connection.

The graphic area of the display changes depending on the mode. In Timekeeping Mode, when steps are displayed, it shows progress toward the daily goal. Otherwise it moves with the seconds of the current time. In the stopwatch it shows how far the target time has been reached or follows the seconds. In the timer it shows the remaining percentage of the countdown. In Dual Time it is synchronized with the seconds of the second time. In Recall and Alarm Modes the graphic area is empty.

Connecting to a phone (Mobile Link)

Before first use, the watch must be paired with the phone. Install the G-SHOCK Connected app from Google Play or the App Store. Turn on Bluetooth on the phone.

1. Enter Timekeeping Mode.
2. Place the phone within one meter of the watch.
3. Tap the G-SHOCK Connected icon on the phone home screen.
4. Follow the instructions on the phone screen to pair the watch.
5. If a pairing message appears, perform the operation shown.

If pairing fails, repeat the procedure from the first step. For subsequent connections, hold D for at least two seconds in Timekeeping Mode. Release the button when the Bluetooth indicator starts flashing. When the connection is established, the indicator stops flashing. To end the connection, press any button except B.

The watch cannot connect to a phone while a stopwatch measurement or a timer countdown is running. The function works only while the G-SHOCK Connected app is running on the phone. When changing phones, pairing must be performed again. To remove the pairing, first end the connection, then tap the app icon and perform the operation shown.

How to set the time and date

On module 3464 the time and date are set automatically via the phone connection. The steps are as follows:

1. Pair the watch with the phone using the procedure described above.
2. Start G-SHOCK Connected on the phone.
3. In Timekeeping Mode, hold D for at least two seconds until the Bluetooth indicator flashes.
4. Wait for the indicator to stop flashing. The time is adjusted automatically while the connection is active.

Automatic time adjustment

The watch connects to the phone at preset times every day. The time setting is adjusted four times a day according to a preset schedule. In a hospital, on an aircraft or in another place where the connection may cause problems, automatic adjustment can be disabled. The same operation enables it again.

Step counter

In Timekeeping Mode, button E displays the step count. The STEPS indicator is lit on this display. Separate indicators show whether the step count is currently increasing. The graphic area shows progress toward the daily step goal. The manual describes setting a daily goal, resetting the step count for today and the causes of inaccurate counting.

Stopwatch

Stopwatch Mode measures elapsed time, split times and lap times. The LAP and SPL indicators show which of the two types is displayed. The positions of the split time and lap time can be swapped on the display. The Target Time function allows setting a target time. When the function is active, the graphic area shows how far the target has been reached. Recorded lap and split times are reviewed in Recall Mode. There you can delete a single record or all records.

Countdown Timer

Timer Mode counts down from a set start time. The graphic area shows the remaining percentage of the countdown. The manual also describes measurement with auto start. The programmable timer can be used as an interval timer.

Alarms and hourly time signal

Alarm Mode is used to set the alarms and the hourly time signal. Each alarm and the hourly time signal can be enabled and disabled separately. One indicator on the display shows an enabled alarm, and another indicator shows an enabled hourly time signal. In this mode the graphic area remains empty.

Dual Time and World Time

Dual Time Mode shows a second time. The Home City can be changed, and the second time can be swapped with the home time. The daylight saving time setting is indicated by the DST indicator. The manual also describes switching to another time zone.

Illumination

The face can be illuminated manually. The Auto Light function turns on the illumination automatically, and the LT indicator is lit when the function is active. The illumination duration can be adjusted.

Other settings

The button operation tone can be disabled, in which case the MUTE indicator is displayed. The watch can be returned to its factory settings. The Phone Finder function helps locate the phone. The manual contains a section on battery replacement and a troubleshooting table.
