Module 3515 is a digital sports module from the G-Shock series. The manual describes a watch with GPS, a heart rate monitor, blood oxygen measurement and a phone connection. It also has sensors for compass, altitude, pressure and temperature. Charging is by cable or from sunlight.
Watch modes
The manual describes three main modes. Watch mode shows the time and daily data. Activity mode is used for measuring workouts. Control mode gives access to the watch settings and functions. The functions in Watch and Activity modes can be customised through the phone app.
How to set the time and date
Module 3515 offers several ways to set the time.
- Pair the watch with your phone through the Casio app. Create your profile at the first connection.
- With automatic connection, the watch synchronises its time with the phone.
- You can also connect the watch to the phone manually to set the time.
- Without a phone, the watch sets the time by manual GPS signal reception. Choose a place with an open sky.
- GPS reception also works outside your country. The watch also receives leap second data.
- The time can also be adjusted manually by operations on the watch itself.
The World Time settings are configured separately. The manual contains a city table and a daylight saving time table.
Charging and battery
The watch is charged with the charging cable from the set. It also supports charging from sunlight. The charge level can be checked on the display. The manual gives approximate charging times. The power saving function can be turned on and off.
Activity measurement
Activity mode records workouts with GPS reception. There are also activities that are measured without a GPS signal. A separate function is pool swimming, for which the pool length is set. The settings include auto lap, auto pause and GPS reception interval. Training notifications and checkpoints along the route can be set. Workout records are viewed on the watch or in the app. Records can be deleted one at a time or all at once.
Heart rate and health functions
The wrist sensor measures the current heart rate. Training by heart rate zones is possible. The watch also measures the blood oxygen level. The Nightly Recharge function shows the recovery status after sleep. There is an overview of training status and cardio load. Breathing exercises are measured with an adjustable duration. The manual contains precautions for heart rate measurement.
Step counter and log
The watch counts steps during the day. A daily step goal and a move reminder can be set. The manual describes causes of inaccurate counting. The activity log shows the data for the day. A desired bedtime and wake-up time are set.
Alarm and Smart Alarm
The alarm is set and turned off from the watch menu. The Smart Alarm function has separate settings and can be turned off.
Stopwatch and timer
The Stopwatch measures elapsed time and split times. The Countdown Timer has a start time setting. Interval timers are used for interval training. The timer can be paused and reset.
Compass
The digital compass shows the direction on the display. The readings can be calibrated. A true north setting via magnetic declination is possible. The manual explains the difference between magnetic and true north.
Altitude, pressure and temperature
The watch shows the current altitude. A reference altitude can be set and the altitude difference can be read. An automatic measurement interval is set. The barometer shows pressure and temperature. The display signals changes in pressure. The altitude, pressure and temperature readings can be calibrated. The units for pressure and temperature are selected in the settings.
Sunrise, sunset and moon phase
The Almanac function shows the sunrise and sunset times. It also shows the moon age.
Phone notifications
The watch receives notifications from the paired phone. Incoming call notifications can be turned on and off. The content of the notifications is shown on the display. Notifications are deleted one at a time or all at once.
