Casio module 3570: user manual and setup (AE-1600H)

The module number is printed on the case back of the watch, usually in a small rectangle next to the other markings. If it says 3570, the settings below apply to your watch. All steps are retold from the official Casio manual for module 3570.

Which watches have module 3570

Module 3570 is digital. The display shows hours, minutes, seconds, day of the week, month and date. According to the manual, the main functions are alarm, countdown timer, stopwatch, dual time and illumination. The models with this module at Classic are:

Buttons and modes

In the manual the buttons are marked with the letters A, B, C and L. Their positions are shown in the illustration in the PDF file.

• Button B changes the modes in this order: Timekeeping, Alarm, Countdown Timer, Dual Time, Stopwatch.
• Holding B for about one second returns to Timekeeping Mode from any mode.
• Button L turns on the display illumination in any mode.
• Buttons A and C are used for settings and operations in the individual modes.

How to set the time and date

1. In Timekeeping Mode, hold A until the seconds start to flash. This is the setting screen.
2. Use B to move the flashing in this order: seconds, hour, minutes, year, month, day.
3. When the desired value is flashing, press C. For the seconds, C resets them to 00. For the hour, minutes, year, month and day, C increases the value.
4. Press A to exit the setting screen.

If you press C while the seconds are between 30 and 59, they reset and the minutes increase by one. With seconds from 00 to 29, the minutes stay the same. The day of the week is shown automatically according to the set date. The year can be set in the range from 2000 to 2099. The calendar is fully automatic and accounts for month lengths and leap years. Once you set the date, a change is needed only after replacing the battery.

12-hour or 24-hour format. In Timekeeping Mode, press C to switch between the two formats. In 12-hour format, the P indicator appears to the left of the hour for the time from noon to 23:59. Before noon there is no indicator. In 24-hour format, the time is shown from 0:00 to 23:59 with no indicator. The selected format applies to all other modes.

Alarm and hourly time signal

The watch has five independent alarms with hour, minutes, month and day. Alarm 1 has a snooze function. The hourly time signal makes a short sound every full hour. Its screen is marked with :00. All operations are performed in Alarm Mode, which you enter with B.

Depending on the set values, the alarm can be one of four types:

• Daily: you set only the hour and minutes, and the alarm sounds every day.
• Date: you set the month, day, hour and minutes, and the alarm sounds on the specific date.
• One-month: you set the month, hour and minutes, and the alarm sounds every day during that month.
• Monthly: you set the day, hour and minutes, and the alarm sounds every month on that day.

Setting an alarm:

1. In Alarm Mode, use C to select the screen of the desired alarm. The order is –1, –2, –3, –4, –5 and :00.
2. Hold A until the alarm hour starts to flash. This automatically turns the alarm on.
3. Use B to move the flashing in this order: hour, minutes, month, day.
4. Use C to increase the flashing value. For an alarm without a month, set – for the month. For an alarm without a day, set – – for the day.
5. Press A to exit the setting.

In 12-hour format, check whether the hour is before or after noon by the P indicator. The alarm sounds for 10 seconds, regardless of which mode the watch is in. It is stopped by pressing any button. The snooze alarm repeats a total of seven times at five-minute intervals. To test the sound, hold C in Alarm Mode.

Alarms 2 to 5 and the hourly time signal are selected with C and turned on or off with A. For Alarm 1, button A cycles in this order: alarm on, snooze on, alarm off. The indicators for active alarms and SNZ are visible in all modes. While the alarm is sounding, its indicator flashes. The SNZ indicator flashes during the five-minute pauses. Opening the setting screen for the time or for Alarm 1 cancels the current snooze cycle.

Countdown Timer

The timer can be set in a range from one minute to 24 hours. When the countdown reaches zero, a signal sounds. There is also auto-repeat, where the countdown starts again from the set value. In Countdown Timer Mode, press C to start the countdown. With auto-repeat turned off, the signal sounds for 10 seconds or until a button is pressed. After that the timer returns to the starting value.

Stopwatch and Dual Time

The module has a Stopwatch Mode for measuring elapsed time and a Dual Time Mode for a second time. Both modes are selected with B. Detailed steps for using them are in the PDF manual below.

Illumination

Press L to illuminate the display. The illumination works in any mode.
