Casio module 5345: user manual and setup (EFR-526D, EFR-539D, EFV-610D)

The module number is engraved on the back of the watch. It is usually a four-digit number in a small rectangle, separate from the model number. If it says 5345, this manual applies to your watch. It covers setting the time and date, using the stopwatch, adjusting the hands, the crown and the battery.

Which watches use module 5345

Casio EFV-610EL-5AUEF

Module 5345 is an analog movement with a stopwatch. The watch has hour, minute and second hands, a date indicator and three stopwatch hands. Some models show part of the information with rotating discs instead of hands. In the manual, the word "hand" covers both variants. The module is used in the following Casio Edifice models at Classic:

Buttons, crown and hands

The watch has two buttons and a crown. Button A starts and stops the stopwatch. Button B takes split times and resets the stopwatch. The crown has two pulled-out positions. Position 1 is for the date, and position 2 is for the time and adjusting the hands.

The stopwatch uses three separate hands: for 1/10 seconds, for seconds and for minutes. The watch may differ slightly from the illustration in the manual.

How to set the time and date

Setting the time:

  1. Wait for the second hand to reach 12 o'clock.
  2. Pull the crown out to position 2.
  3. Rotate the crown to set the time.
  4. Push the crown back to the normal position.

Make sure you set the correct morning or afternoon time. When setting, move the minute hand four or five minutes ahead. Then move it back to the desired minute.

Setting the date:

  1. Pull the crown out to position 1.
  2. Rotate the crown to set the date.
  3. Push the crown back to the normal position.

The date indicator works with a 31-day month. In shorter months, the date is adjusted manually. Do not change the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM. In this interval, the date may not change correctly at midnight.

Stopwatch

The stopwatch measures elapsed time to 1/10 second. The maximum measurement is 59 minutes and 59.9 seconds. Measurement stops automatically after 60 minutes. Do not use the stopwatch while the crown is pulled out.

Elapsed time: A start, A stop, A restart, A stop, B reset.

Split time: A start, B split, B split release, A stop, B reset.

Two finishes: A start, B split when the first runner finishes, A stop when the second runner finishes. The hands show the time of the first runner. Press B to show the time of the second runner. Then B resets the stopwatch.

Adjusting the home positions of the hands

If the stopwatch hands do not return to zero after a reset, do the following:

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2.
  2. Press A to move the 1/10 second hand clockwise. Holding A moves it quickly.
  3. Press B to move the stopwatch second hand. Holding B moves it quickly.
  4. The stopwatch minute hand moves together with the second hand.
  5. Push the crown back to the normal position.

While the crown is pulled out, the watch does not keep time. After this procedure, set the correct time again.

Screw-lock crown

Some models that are water resistant to 100 or 200 meters have a screw-lock crown. Before use, rotate it toward you to unscrew it. Then pull it out without excessive force. While the crown is unscrewed, the watch loses its water resistance. After setting, screw the crown in fully.

Rotating bezel

If the model has a rotating bezel, align the ▼ mark with the minute hand. The bezel then shows how much time has passed since the alignment.

Accuracy and battery

The average deviation is up to 20 seconds per month. The watch runs on one silver oxide battery type SR920SW. Its life is about two years with 60 minutes of stopwatch operation per day.
