Module 5475 is a combined analog-digital module. The watch has hour, minute and second hands and a separate mode hand. The digital display is divided into an upper and a lower part. There is also a digital counter that shows seconds or tenths of a second.
Buttons and modes
The buttons are marked with the letters A, B, C and D. The watch has five modes: Timekeeping, World Time, Stopwatch, Countdown Timer and Alarm. The mode hand shows which mode the watch is currently in.
- To return to Timekeeping Mode from any other mode, hold C for about two seconds.
- In the setting screens, buttons D and B scroll through the values. Holding them scrolls quickly.
- Alarm Mode and the setting screen close on their own after about three minutes without a button press.
- When you enter Alarm Mode or World Time Mode, the data from the last exit is shown.
The digital counter shows seconds in Timekeeping, World Time and Countdown Timer Modes. In Stopwatch Mode it shows tenths of a second.
In Timekeeping Mode, each press of A changes the display content. It cycles through month and day, hour and minutes, and seconds. The display also shows the day of the week and a PM indicator.
How to set the time and date
First set the home city and daylight saving time, then the current time. World Time is calculated from these settings, so they must be correct.
Home city and daylight saving time
- In Timekeeping Mode, hold A until ADJ appears in the lower display. After you release the button, SET flashes in the upper display.
- Use D (east) and B (west) to scroll through the city codes. The city code table is at the end of the manual.
- Press C. DST appears in the upper display, and the daylight saving time setting of the selected city appears in the lower display.
- Use D to switch between daylight saving time (ON) and standard time (OFF). When UTC is selected as the home city, this switch is not possible.
- Press A to exit the setting. When daylight saving time is on, the DST indicator stays on the display.
If you do not press a button for two or three minutes, the watch exits the setting mode on its own. After a city code is selected, the watch uses the UTC offsets to calculate the time in other zones.
Time and date
- In Timekeeping Mode, hold A until ADJ appears. Release the button and SET starts to flash.
- Each press of C moves the flashing setting in this order: city code, daylight saving time, 12/24-hour format, seconds, hour, minutes, year, month, day, illumination duration, button tone.
- When the desired setting is flashing, change it with D and/or B.
- Press A to exit the setting screen.
Changing the digital data for the home city also moves the hands. If the hands do not match the digital time, check their home positions. The manual describes the setting of the hand home positions in a separate section.
World Time
World Time Mode shows the current time in 48 cities across 31 time zones. The time is calculated from the time in the home city. You can select a World Time city and set daylight saving time for it. The manual also describes swapping the home city with the World Time city. The digital counter shows seconds.
Stopwatch
The Stopwatch measures elapsed time. The digital counter shows tenths of a second. The manual describes measuring elapsed time, taking a split time and timing two finishes.
Countdown Timer
In Countdown Timer Mode you set a start time and start the countdown. An alarm sounds at the end, and you can stop it. The digital counter shows seconds.
Alarm and Hourly Time Signal
In Alarm Mode you set an alarm time. The watch also has a snooze alarm and an Hourly Time Signal. The display shows markings such as SIG, SNZ and AL4.
- In 12-hour format, set the hour correctly as morning (no indicator) or afternoon (P indicator). Press A to exit the setting.
- Alarm test: in Alarm Mode, hold D and the alarm sounds.
- Turning on and off: in Alarm Mode, use D to select an alarm or the Hourly Time Signal. Press A to turn it on (on) or off (- -).
- The indicators for an active alarm, snooze alarm and Hourly Time Signal are shown in the upper display in all modes.
- To stop a sounding alarm, press any button.
Illumination
The display has illumination for reading in the dark. Auto light turns on when you tilt the watch towards your face. It must be enabled for this to work. For manual illumination, press B in any mode, except when a setting screen is flashing. The duration can be about 1.5 or three seconds and is selected in the settings. Manual illumination works whether auto light is on or off.
Button tone and battery
The button press tone can be turned on and off from the setting screen. The watch also has a low battery indication, described in the manual.
