Casio module 5664: user manual and setup (EFB-108D)

Every Casio watch has a module number engraved on the case back. The number sits among the other markings on the back, separate from the model name. If it says 5664, this manual is for your watch. Below you will find the time and date setting, the use of the crown, the rotating bezel and the battery, according to the official Casio manual. The manual is short because the watch has no buttons and no additional modes.

Which watches have module 5664

Module 5664 is an analog movement powered by a battery. The watch has hour, minute and second hands and shows the date. All settings are made with the crown, without buttons and without a digital display. The manual also describes a rotating bezel, which is present only on some models. The crown and its positions

The watch is operated only with the crown. It has three positions:

• Normal position – the watch runs normally.
• Click 1 – the crown is pulled out to the first click and is used to set the date.
• Click 2 – the crown is pulled out fully and is used to set the time.

Some water-resistant models marked 10BAR or 20BAR have a screw-lock crown. Before operating it, rotate it towards you to unscrew it. Then pull it out without applying excessive force. While the crown is unscrewed, the watch loses its water resistance. After the setting is complete, screw the crown fully back in. On models without a screw-lock crown, pull it directly out to the required click.

How to set the time and date

Setting the time

1. Wait until the second hand reaches the 12 o'clock position.
2. Pull the crown out to click 2.
3. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minutes.
4. Take care to set the morning or afternoon time correctly (AM or PM).
5. Move the minute hand four or five minutes past the desired time. Then move it back to the exact minute.
6. Push the crown back in at a time signal to restart the watch.

Setting the date

1. Pull the crown out to click 1.
2. Rotate the crown away from you to set the date.
3. Push the crown back into the normal position.

The date works on a 31-day month. After a shorter month, correct the date manually using the steps described. Do not change the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM. In this interval the date may not change correctly at midnight.

Rotating bezel

If your model has a rotating bezel, it is used to measure elapsed time. Rotate the bezel so that the ▼ mark aligns with the minute hand. After that, the distance between the mark and the minute hand shows how much time has passed since the alignment. The function is useful for timing short intervals and requires no other settings.

Accuracy and battery

The manual gives the following technical data for module 5664:

• Accuracy at normal temperature: ±20 seconds per month.
• Battery type: SR920SW.
• Battery life: approximately 3 years.
