Casio module 5736: user manual and setup (GA-B010)

The module number is engraved on the case back of every Casio. It is a four-digit number and is separate from the model name. If the case back says 5736, the guide below applies to your watch. The official Casio PDF is at the end.

Which watches use module 5736

Module 5736 is a combined analog-digital module. The watch has an hour hand, a minute hand and an LCD display. It is powered by a rechargeable battery, charged by a solar panel in the dial. It connects to a phone via Bluetooth. It has World Time for 38 time zones, an alarm, a stopwatch, a countdown timer and a step counter.

Buttons and modes

The manual labels the buttons with the letters A, B, C, D and L.

• A – holding for at least two seconds in any mode opens the setting screen.
• B – in Timekeeping Mode changes the displayed information. On a setting screen it changes the value.
• C – each press changes the mode. Holding for at least one second returns to Timekeeping Mode.
• D – on a setting screen changes the value.
• L – turns on the illumination.

Button C cycles through the modes in this order: Timekeeping, Alarm, World Time, Countdown Timer, Stopwatch. From the Stopwatch, the next press returns to Timekeeping.

In Timekeeping Mode, button B switches between three screens: normal time, step counter and an app information screen. The information screen shows data received during a connection with the phone. It returns to the normal time automatically at midnight. To receive information from CASIO WATCHES, enable the receive setting in the app.

The display has indicators for Bluetooth connection, charge level, alarm on, hourly time signal and daylight saving time. An indicator also shows whether the step counter is currently counting. In 12-hour format, a PM indicator is also shown.

The hands can be moved aside so the display can be seen. Hold L and press C. To return them, hold L and press C again, or change the mode with C. If you do nothing for about one hour, the hands return on their own.

How to set the time and date

1. In any mode, hold button A for at least two seconds. The setting screen opens.
2. Change the value with buttons B and D.
3. To return to the normal time, hold C for at least one second.

The time can also be adjusted automatically when connected to a phone. Hold C for at least three seconds to connect the watch to the phone. To end the connection, press any button. The manual also describes hand position correction via the CASIO WATCHES app.

Alarm and hourly time signal

The alarm sounds at a time you set. It is set in Alarm Mode or via the CASIO WATCHES app. When it is on, an indicator appears on the display. The watch also has an hourly time signal with its own indicator. The manual describes turning off the alarm and the hourly time signal, and enabling a button operation tone.

Stopwatch

The Stopwatch measures in 1/100 second units during the first hour. After that it counts in seconds, up to 24 hours. The manual also describes split times and lap times.

Countdown Timer

The Countdown Timer counts down from a start time you set. When it reaches zero, a signal sounds. The start time is set on the watch or via the app.

World Time

Shows the time in one of 38 time zones. The list can be updated when connected to a phone. The manual describes changing the World Time city, swapping Home Time and World Time, and moving to another zone. Cities are set on the watch or via CASIO WATCHES.

Step counter

The step counter counts steps while walking and running. After you set a daily target, a graph shows how much of it has been reached. An indicator flashes if the step count stays low for a set period. The data is viewed with button B in Timekeeping Mode. The manual also describes resetting the daily count and the step reminder.

Illumination and power saving

The watch has LED illumination, which is turned on with button L. An indicator shows when the Full Auto Light function is on. If the watch is left in the dark for about one hour between 22:00 and 5:50, the display turns off to save power.

Solar charging and battery

The battery charges when the dial is exposed to light. When you are not wearing the watch, leave it in a bright place. When wearing it, make sure your sleeve does not cover the dial. Even partial coverage reduces charging.

Do not charge the watch at a temperature above 60 °C. Avoid a car dashboard in the sun, places near incandescent bulbs, halogen lamps and long direct sunlight. There is a risk of overheating and damage.

The charge indicator has three levels: high, medium and low. When the battery is low, L and LOW flash. The step counter, illumination, sounds and phone connection then stop. At an even lower charge, CHG flashes, the hands stop at 12 o'clock and all functions are disabled.

If the battery is fully drained, the display goes blank. Data in memory is lost and settings return to factory defaults. Expose the watch to light as soon as possible. A flashing CHG means charging has started. Keep it in the light until the time screen appears. If H, M and L flash, the battery is temporarily drained and only timekeeping works.
