Presage — Japanese watchmaking artistry in an automatic watch
Presage is the series where Seiko shows what Japanese mechanics can do: fully automatic watches, made in Japan, with dials that get talked about more than their price. Here you'll find the famous "cocktail" dials with their depth of colour, the sharp facets of the Sharp Edged series, and the classic open-heart models that let you watch the movement in motion.
Which Presage for whom
Cocktail Time — the most recognisable face of Presage: dials inspired by cocktails, sunray textures and prices from around €440. The most gifted automatic watch in the range. Sharp Edged (SPB) — the higher tier: sapphire crystal, finer movements with a 70-hour power reserve and clean geometry inspired by the Japanese asanoha motif — from around €1000. The classic open-heart automatics show off the balance of the movement through the dial — striking without being flashy.
How to choose
For a first automatic watch or a gift — Cocktail Time. For a connoisseur after the Japanese alternative to Swiss class — Sharp Edged SPB. All come with an automatic Seiko movement, made in Japan, with a 2-year international warranty and the option of 0% interest instalments.
Questions and answers
Are all Presage watches automatic?
Yes — Presage is an entirely mechanical series: automatic Seiko movements with manual winding, no batteries.
What's the difference between Presage and Seiko 5?
Presage is the higher tier: finer movements, sapphire crystal on most models, and dial finishing that Seiko 5 doesn't offer. Seiko 5 Sports is the more accessible sporty entry point into automatic watches.
Are they genuine, and is there a warranty?
Yes — CLASSIC only sells genuine Seiko watches with a 2-year international warranty, free delivery, and the option of 0% interest instalments.
